Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 is scheduled to launch on November 6, 2026, introducing a major update that brings the free-to-play battle royale closer to Modern Warfare 4. Players can expect two brand-new maps, several gameplay adjustments, and a complete level reset for all accounts.

Activision revealed the upcoming season through its official Season 1 guide, published on the Call of Duty blog on November 2. Among the biggest additions for battle royale fans are Hajin, a new map designed for the standard Battle Royale experience, and Zodiac, a fresh location built specifically for the faster-paced Resurgence mode. PCGamesN also shared further details about these additions in its November 3 coverage.

Two new battlegrounds

According to PCGamesN, Hajin is located near the border separating North Korea and South Korea. Its environment combines towering commercial structures, residential neighborhoods, and heavily fortified military facilities. Players will also have multiple ways to move around the coastline, including routes across both land and water. Its overall design may remind longtime players of the environments featured in Warzone's DMZ extraction mode.

Zodiac, meanwhile, serves as the new destination for Resurgence matches. The map is centered around a drone production facility, featuring large-scale industrial complexes and narrow underground passageways that create opportunities for close-range combat. A train is another notable feature, adding a dynamic element to the map that PCGamesN considers one of Warzone's standout gameplay additions.

Beyond the two new locations, Season 1 will introduce additional tactical equipment and environmental mechanics. These include large wheeled garbage containers that players can move around for temporary protection, as well as a launcher designed to deploy ziplines.

Level reset and a mid-season homecoming

As part of the seasonal integration with Modern Warfare 4, which debuted on October 22 with 33 Operators and an updated Create-a-Class system, Warzone will also undergo a full player-level reset. Activision has not yet clarified exactly which progression elements will remain available after the reset. The precise launch time for the November 6 update has also not been confirmed.

Looking further ahead, Verdansk and Rebirth Island, two of the franchise's most recognizable original Warzone maps, are expected to make a comeback during a mid-season update. Verdansk will reportedly receive additional points of interest, offering returning players new locations to explore and fight over.

Warzone will continue to be available as a free-to-play title. In comparison, Modern Warfare 4 is listed at 69.99 EUR on Steam and currently holds a Metascore of 85.
